There is today in Italy a wide range of training courses available for those who wish to work in the world of cooperatives. We have divided these training opportunities into undergraduate degree courses, listed on the basis of universities offering them in their curriculum; university Master’s programmes; and courses run by the Istituto Luzzatti and by the four cooperative centres (excluding those aimed at internal cooperative staff).

UNIVERSITY - MUEC (1st-level University Master Course on Cooperative Business Studies)

Thanks to the joint efforts by the University of Bologna, the "Luigi Luzzatti" Institute for Cooperative Studies and the Cooperative Central Organisations, a Post-Graduate Course on Cooperative Business Studies was set up within the Bologna University Faculty of Economics back in 1996. Following the university reform act, the course has been transformed into the current 1st-level University Master Course on Cooperative Business Studies. . The primary objective of the Master Course is to promote and support the development of managers who can address the key issues of business management, while giving due consideration to the principles inspiring cooperatives. In addition, the Master Course aims at creating closer links between the university and the labour market. Along these lines, the cooperatives industry offers important contributions, such as classes, testimonial lectures, on-the-job training and short-term employment opportunities. The Italian Documentation Centre on Cooperatives and Social Economy supports the M.U.E.C. tuition through its library services.

The Lazio-region Confcooperative and Legacoop promoted the Master Course on Cooperative Business Administration and Management in cooperation with the "Federico Caffè" Faculty of Economics of the University Rome 3 and with the support of the “Luzzatti” Institute, the Lazio Regional Administration and the Rome Chamber of Commerce.
This course focuses on the analysis of market opportunities for cooperative businesses and includes a more formal part on macroeconomic scenarios and business areas proper.
The Master Course is intended for graduates and cooperative business managers who wish to acquire a high-level, cooperative business and administration education.
